Welcome to your shift on Med-Surg 4-East. You've just taken report on 4 patients. Room 412: I don't feel right…. Room 414: Scheduled Lasix is due — can I get up to the bathroom first?. Room 416: My leg is 7/10 — my pain med is overdue.. Room 418: I feel a little nauseous — and I still need my discharge teaching.. Your job is to decide who needs your immediate attention first. Think like a safe bedside nurse. Prioritize the most urgent patient before you do anything else. I'll be right here throughout the shift.
